Abstract:
 State-of-charge ( SOC) of the power batteries is one of the important parameters of the electricvehicles ( EVs) . Accuracy of the SOC estimation should be guaranteed by the accuracy of the batterymodel. Recently,influence of temperature on the battery-related parameters has gained a lot of attention.However,the continuously changed temperature can’t be adapted by the existing battery model. It is aheavy work to test the parameters in different SOCs and temperatures. A SOC estimation method based onthe Nernst electrochemical equation was proposed. Statistical theory was used to gain a more accurate bat-tery model by measuring less data. The parameters of the model can be fitted by multiple factors includingcontinuously changing temperature. The discharging experiments of the lithium battery were operatedthrough working condition simulation of the EVs in different temperatures. A novel battery model was es-tablished by means of design of experiment ( DOE) . The Extended Kalman Filter ( EKF) algorithm wasapplied to estimate lithium battery SOC dynamically. The superiority of the proposed estimation methodwas verified by simulation and experimental results.
