Abstract:
Magnetic saturation effects are usually ignored or ill-considered in most mathematical modelings of the bearingless switched reluctance motor(BSRM).The inaccurate mathematical modelings might cause unsatisfactory performances.An improved mathematical modeling of BSRM is proposed in this paper which combined Maxwell stress tensor method with magnetic circuit method.Magnetic saturation effects and radial displacements of the rotor were taken into account.This model characterized the radial force well and truly.It provided a more trusty basis to analysis motor’s running state and to design the motor.The model also brought convenience to investigate the stator’s vibration and noise.The new mathematical model of the BSRM is verified by the FEA simulations on a prototype.
