Abstract:
In order to use AC (Alternate Current) arc discharge in flowing water to process waste-water, the experiment system and measurement circuit were designed. A dynamic model which suited the AC arc in water was established. This model combined Cassie with Mayr arc differential equation models as two resistances in series. Considering the special need of water medium, a parameter of minimum electric conductance was introduced. Furthermore, the solution of the model’s parameters was deduced. The mathematic model was converted to a circuit model and the arc’s dynamic voltagecurrent characteristics were simulated in this conversion. The results demonstrate that the simulated waveforms of arc voltage and current accord with the measurement waveforms in a large extent. There exists gas and liquid two phase discharge during arc generating process but regular arc discharge virtually occurred in vapor. When discharge is regular pattern, arc voltage is about 100V, and the arc have 1~2 ms extinct time when current zero naturally. During this period, the current is about 0 and varies slowly, while the voltage rise to about 1 500 V rapidly, which reignited the arc.
