Abstract:
A new method is advised to reduce the cogging torque of solidrotor permanent magnet synchronous motor. Only changing the nonmagnetic slot wedge, was the pole arc width of one pole changed in this method, and the interval between two adjacent poles was the same. By suitably selecting the shape and width of nonmagntic slot wedge, the cogging torque could reduced. The analytical expression of cogging torque of solidrotor PM synchronous motor with this method was got. Based on the analytical expression, the Fourier expression of the square of residual flux density of PM was got. Then the method to calculate the width of pole arc was advised. At last, the finite element method was used to calculate the cogging torque of one prototype, and the results verify that the cogging torque can be greatly reduced with this method.
